Metro MPLS

With MPLS VLL's (Virtual Leased Lines) NL-ix offers transparant and path-resillient transport capcitity between the largests of it's connected datacenters in the Netherlands (see currently available sites in the pricing list).

This service provides a form of point-to-point transport capacity which is fully transparant (multiple MAC adresses, dot1.q and q-in-q VLAN's), but also offers resillience by automatically rerouting the VLL over a different path upon failing links or routers. It has the following features:

Fully Managed:

NL-ix builds, pro-actively manages and monitors the end-to-end connection for you;

Grey lasers:

Delivered on standard and low-cost ('grey') short-hole optical fiber interfaces at both endpoints;

All speeds:

Available at 1 Gbit/s or 10 Gbit/s speeds;

Transparant:

Allows unlimited MAC adresses, dot.1q, q-in-q, mac-in-mac, MPLS and jumbo frames;

Secure:

Delivers a completely private circuit where traffic cannot be seen by other customers or even NL-ix;

Any distance:

NL-ix hides the distance between endpoints and repeats the signal along the way if needed.

A Metro MPLS VLL is the only Metro product that offers automatic rerouting over a different path upon link or router failure, but is also more cost-effective then Metro Fiber, and more cost effective then a Metro Wave (except on very short distances), while still offering the same advantages of transparant capacity.
